Meet Tim Jon Mitts<\/span><\/h2>\n

I\u2019m not a career politician\u2014I\u2019m one of you. I grew up in a family of eight kids, where every dollar counted, and I learned the value of hard work and common sense early on. For over a decade, I\u2019ve called Monroe home, raising my three amazing daughters here, and like you, I want the best for our community.<\/p>\n

Monroe is a unique and special place. It\u2019s a town filled with diversity, history, and opportunity, but we\u2019re being held back by politics-as-usual. That\u2019s why I\u2019m running for Town Supervisor\u2014to bring transparency, accountability, and teamwork to local government so we can finally get things done for the people who call this place home.<\/p>\n

My Vision for Monroe<\/span><\/h2>\n

Monroe deserves a government that puts people over politics, and that\u2019s exactly what I\u2019ll do as your Town Supervisor. Here\u2019s how:<\/p>\n

  1. Restoring Transparency and Accountability
    Our town\u2019s residents deserve to know the truth about the decisions that affect them\u2014before they\u2019re made. Whether it\u2019s large projects or major policy changes, I will ensure every proposal is carefully researched, openly discussed, and communicated clearly to you. No more backroom deals or surprises that lead to costly lawsuits. It\u2019s time for common sense and honest government.<\/li>\n
  2. Building a Functional Government
    A government that doesn\u2019t work together can\u2019t work for the people. Monroe has suffered from a divisive and dysfunctional environment that puts personal interests ahead of the town\u2019s well-being. I will foster a collaborative, respectful atmosphere among elected officials to ensure we\u2019re all working toward the same goal: a better Monroe for everyone.<\/li>\n
  3. Fighting for Lower Taxes
    Families and businesses in Monroe are feeling the burden of rising taxes. I will take a hard look at spending, eliminate waste, and prioritize fiscal responsibility to provide relief for our residents. My focus will be on making Monroe more affordable without sacrificing the quality of services we depend on. And I promise in my first year you will see a 10% reduction in your taxes without cutting any of the programs and services we need.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    What Sets Me Apart<\/span><\/h2>\n

    I\u2019m a defender of common sense, fairness, and the principles that make Monroe a great place to live. I\u2019ve already shown my commitment to this town through projects like the restoration of RestHaven, the rehabilitation of Pine Bungalow Colony, and community events like the annual Santa helicopter landing at Museum Village. These efforts are about more than just preserving our town\u2019s heritage\u2014they\u2019re about building a stronger community for future generations.<\/p>\n

    I believe in standing up against abuse of power, putting people first, and staying persistent in the face of challenges.\u00a0<\/p>\n
